One man’s valiant battle against the slushpile.
I am a 36 year old aspiring author trying to decipher the tea-leaves of publication. Learning to laugh in the face of statistical success ( seriously, don’t look up those numbers ) and developing a mighty, calloused hide in preparation for the salvo of rejections that will likely follow. I will be posting up any short stories I have which, for one reason or another, I’ve decided not to submit for publication. I hope they can be enjoyed by my visitors.
If you’re in the same boat as me then hopefully we can share inspiration and advice, before I smack you over the head with an oar to survive for another few days at sea.
I’ve just published the first story in an ongoing series on Amazon Kindle. Genre? You’ve got me there. Sort of an odd blend of fantasy and history, set in victorian times and starring an entitled buffoon named Norton Pumblesmythe.
